Barrie Bros. Local Food Company

well our first day of Local Food Adventures has started off with a bang!!  Upon recommendation from Laura G who lives in Ayr, Ontario we (Biddle, Scribbles and I) decided to check out Barrie Bros. which is about a 10 minute drive from our place.... (www.barriebrothers.com)
WOW... I was literally blown away by:
-the selection of local foods (many farms and local fare was represented)
-how AMAZINGLY friendly they were, and especially with the kids
-Tim who we met as we initially walked through the door - took the kids over to feed the pigs under the tree!!  ***THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!!!!***
-the prices (better than the grocery store)-the selection; produce, pies, maple candies, chocolate, pasta, chips, yogurt, honey, beans, and the list goes on and on....

SO all in all crazy, crazy good.  The kids LOVED it!  Loved the animals and I loved it too.  We were welcomed in and given a tour with explaination of where all the items were from - ever had that at a grocery store???  I think not!!   On the way home I asked the kids what was their favourite part of our LOCAL ADVENTURE TODAY?

Biddle (3) said "the pigs!!"

Scribbles (1) said "Doggie!"

back at home Scribbles shows off her "strawberry face"!  We had to dig into the fresh local strawberries on the way home!!!
